Work/Life Balance aided by Religious Faith

ree

Matt Bloom of the University of Notre Dame has done a lot of research, especially on employees in service-related industries who experience high levels of burnout and blurred boundaries. This infographic suggests there are four key dimensions and three essentials to well-being in the workplace. His research points to the value of religious faith in connecting purpose and work in a harmonious relationship that brings satisfaction in work and personal life.

The Church too, is a service calling whose servants regularly find work-life boundaries blurred, and burnout is a constant threat.

Ironically, many who work in the church or supervise employees of the church forget to bring their religious faith into a meaningful relationship between work and personal life.
